Not Guilty!

Recently I received an email, one of those 'send it on' things which was in sympathy with the USA troops in Iraq. I did send it on to some friends and family because I DO sympathise with those men and women who have to serve their duty in Iraq & Afghanistan. They dont want to be there-it is not in their power to refuse to go when they are called up. The majority of the armed forces in Iraq are decent human beings who genuinely want to help the people.
I do not support the USA/UK government policies on Iraq or Afghanistan. I do not believe they are doing their best to help these countries. I do know that they are only in it for the oil and power/control of these regions. The plight of the Iraqies/Afghanies means nothing to them. The lives of their soldiers are also just so much fodder in their war machine.
One of the people who received my email is an Iraqi. I received a reply from her accusing me of being a sympathiser of the occupation.Let's put the record straight here, I strongly believe that the occupation of both Iraq and Afghanistan is a crime against humanity. The occupying forces should be deployed home at the earliest opportunity. Aid should be given to these countries to help them recover economically.
I do not sympathise with the occupation, I sympathise with those who are being forced to serve in the occupation.
Do you agree or disagree with my stance on this?

A Good Cause

I want you to look carefully at this bust. See how well the artist has portrayed the subject. How each detail stands out. This was done by a young Iraqi girl who is living in Jordan as a refugee. She is struggling to make ends meet for herself and her young son. I believe she has talent, such talent should not be wasted. I would like to help this young woman to fulfill her dream to bring her artistic talent to the world. If anyone knows how she can go about getting help whether it be in the form of a scholarship, bursary, sponsorship or just some money to buy her materials and pay her rent etc please leave a comment on here. I am looking around the net, getting names of galleries and organisations that may be helpful, every little bit helps. What do you think?
