Junk Mail

We all get so much junk mail through the post almost every day. I know for a fact that BT gave out my information to companies when I opened an account with them. How do I know? Because when I got my first bill, my surname had been mis-spelt. As I could not really be bothered to call them and correct it, and my cheqes went through fine to pay the bills, I left it. All the junk mail that started coming after that had-guess what-the same mis-spelling on my surname!

Cold calling is another thing that gets on my nerves. I have just gone out into the garden to hang up some washing when the phone rings (or I could be upstairs, in the bathroom etc). Rushing to get to the phone before BT answer kicks in and what do I find? Yep, someone wanting to sell me a new kitchen or double glazing, or I have won a fabulous holiday in the Bahamas. All I have to do is give them my bank details to set up a direct debit and arrange for the work to be done.Great...except that I have not asked you to call me and dont want your freebies or your kitchens.

Jehovahs witnesses, spare me the thought, they always seem to turn up when you have just put the meal on the table or you are in the kitchen cooking it. No, I dont want to discuss the coming of Jehovah. If I did I could go somewhere and have a debate about it instead of standing here with my front door open trying to get rid of you! I dont want your free magazine either, you would do much better joining those who hand out the free newspapers every day outside the underground station.

I wonder if people in other countries have this kind of bother? What about someone in India , or Japan or China? Do they have all this junk pushed through their letterboxes every day, or the phone calls. Do Jehovahs Witnesses get around the world and turn up on doorsteps in Mumbai or Hong Kong?
